Frenger Multi Service Chilled Beams are designed to meet the specific requirements of the professional team. From the overall appearance to the provision of a comfortable working environment for the end user. MSCB's can utilise either passive or active beam technologies. The MSCB removes the need for the monolithic ceilings that we have become accustomed to in office developments, instead providing visually stunning yet 100% functional building services.

Key Benefits
• Ideal where floor-to-slab height is minimal
• Low running costs - minimal maintenance requirements
• Delivers many services in a single unit - so reducing costs
• Extremely high level of occupancy thermal comfort
• Beam aesthetic can be customised to client requirements

The following building services can be integrated within Frenger MSCB's:-
Design Options
• Cooling
• Heating
• Fresh air requirements
• Up-lighting
• Down-lighting
• BMS sensors
• Control valves
• Sprinklers
• Fire alarm
• Acoustic Insulation
• Pipework/Ductwork
• Power/compartmental trunking

Frenger Design Services
At Frenger we have many years experience in the design and manufacture of cooling systems which combine the highest levels of occupancy comfort with class-leading design. In support of this we offer our clients a full lighting design service, CAD drafting and 3D rendering of MSCB's in the environment, climatic simulations and full climatic testing at our BSRIA calibrated testing facility in Derby.

Frenger's unique range of active chilled beams utilise the very latest technology to deliver unrivalled levels of performance and flexibility. The beams can deliver cooling, heating and fresh air requirements, with the water-driven products inducing 4-5 times as much room air as fresh air supplied. The conditioned air is then introduced into the space in a whisper-quiet directional or bi-directional manner. The Frenger units have side-mounted air chambers that facilitate high cooling capacity in very compact dimensions and with relatively low supply air volumes. The units will operate effectively with supply air volumes of just 3 litres/second/linear metre (typically equating to just 1 l/s/m2). The Professor beam is only 120mm deep and delivers cooling of up to 350 watts/linear metre, whereas the Polaris beam is just 230mm deep while delivering up to 650 watts/linear metre of cooling capacity. The units are designed to fit easily within the most common ceiling types, and have removable faceplates that can be perforated to match a perforated metal ceiling system. This removable faceplate also provides access to factory-fitted motorised valves, drain cocks and controls. The Polaris and Professor beams are designed to induce all room air through the removable faceplate, and there is consequently no need to provide a return air path through the ceiling system itself. The air being introduced into the space via the beam will entrain to the ceiling tiles as a result of our patented Coanda nozzles, so preventing dumping of air below the chilled beams. Our nozzle technology also enables us to determine and factory-set the airflow and dispersion characteristics of the unit; Frenger can even offer units with differing airflow and dispersion properties from either side of the beam. Frenger work with the design team to create the most comfortable environment, in which air velocities do not exceed 0.25m/s in the occupied zone.

The installation of passive chilled beams above a perforated metal ceiling is a popular solution for client-designed and speculative projects alike. The system provides for cost-effective cooling with minimal controls, and furthermore gives the designer the freedom to select a ceiling system that will not be compromised by the need to integrate a visible cooling device. However, traditional finned-tube battery products rely totally on convection and consequently need a perforated ceiling with excessive free areas and hole sizes. The unique Frenger "A-Series" beams are 40% radiant and can therefore be integrated above standard perforated metal ceilings. These beams will even work effectively above a microperforated ceiling (1.5mm diameter holes with 22% free area), providing up to 130 watts/m2 of cooling. Cooling capacity of up to 150 w/m2 can be realised by utilising the beams above a ceiling perforated to 28% free area with 2.4mm diameter holes.
